Gosh! the guy who ejected out of the chopper was very unlucky. The captain of the ship must have been on a suicide mission; he must have known that the ship wasn't going under that bridge. Between a train and a car, the train always wins. My condolences to the families of the bereaved.
That assumed controlled demolition at the every end went really wrong. I don't recall ever seeing a structure that big tipping all the way over without collapsing the leading edge load bearing members as they came in contact with the ground.The bridge operator had started lowering the bridge and the captain of ship thought he could still go through and came in fast but it was no longer possible nor he could stop the ship.
